Curatrice de l'exposition UNE MAISON À SAINT-TROPEZAgence Isabelle Castanier 17 avenue Foch, Place des Lices 6 Juillet — 19 Août 2023L’agence d’architecture d’intérieur Isabelle Castanier est ravie de présenter l’exposition Une Maison à Saint-Tropez, réunissant une dizaine de céramistes, designers, sculpteurs et artistes peintres, figures historiques et émergentes inscrites dans le vibrant héritage de la Provence. Orchestrée sous le commissariat de Leslie Kabla, curator indépendante spécialiste en design du XXe siècle, cette exposition très personnelle se tiendra dans la maison familiale d’Isabelle Castanier, jouxtant son agence tropézienne.Ancienne bâtisse située au cœur de la Place des Lices, la maison fut construite en 1785. Chaque espace est aménagé avec des pièces vintage de la collection familiale, certaines usées par le temps ont été upcyclées par les artistes. La sélection comporte également des œuvres uniques réalisées pour l’exposition, inspirées du lieu et de l’émotion qui s’en dégage, et notamment des collaborations inédites entre les différents artistes exposés. Les artistes et designers revisitent ainsi la mémoire du lieu avec leur regard moderne afin de restituer la simplicité et la beauté du mode de vie des grands-parents Castanier, et de créer un dialogue intergénérationnel. Cet ensemble éclectique, véritable ôde aux traditions provençales, fait revivre un Saint-Tropez à la fois iconique et résolument moderne.Les artistes participants à l’exposition sont tous installés dans le Sud, revendiquant une approche traditionnelle des savoir-faire ancestraux et le respect des traditions: les artistes peintres Avrandinis, Silvio Mildo, Jules Mimouni, les céramistes et sculpteurs Emmanuelle Roule, Andrea Moreno, Camille Chaleil, Claire Cosnefroy, Léa Bigot, Théo Ouaki, Vincent Verde, les designers Axel Chay et Picasta, le duo-créatif Memòri Studio, la brodeuse Sarah Espeute et les éditeurs 13 Desserts, OROS et La Romaine Éditions.

They both have lived in Paris & New-York where they acquired experience in design, luxury and architecture. Their approach is to organise a series of events and to realise projects that would bring visibility and create the desire for collectible design in Asia. With partners from diverse industries including real estate, luxury retail as well as private collectors, they intend to put collectible design in the spotlight, by creating memorable experiences.HWD have already started working on their inventory and currently advise private collectors. They are specialising in mid-century decorative arts including designers’ furniture, sculptures and ceramics.
