I have worked hard with the Board of Directors over the last two years to promote the racing aspect of youth sailing in the Madison Area. During my first summer as director, I introduced a new Learn-To-Race program. This class was taught in the Optimist Dinghy and we had kids traveling to five different regattas throughout the summer. This past summer, the Madison Youth Sailing Foundation was excited to introduce a new X-boat racing program. We were able to bring x-boaters to the ILYA X-Boat Championship for the first time in over 30 years. It is my hope that the hard work myself, the Board of Directors, parent, and sailors have put in over the last two years will have a lasting impact on youth sailing in the Madison area.

I comprised a course curriculum and daily lesson plans for learn to sail and racing classes. I worked with team members to coach students ages 8-16 and traveled with them to regattas. We maintained the boats and also provided safety and instruction for the children in the class room and on the water.

I also taught a course for students ages 4+ to help them feel comfortable in boats and learn the basics about sailing.
