As a young child, a minor trauma entered into my little world and interfered with my early reading skills, hence, my difficulty in reading and dislike for it. With the proper support and scaffolding, I soon became an avid reader.After my first career, I married and began to raise children. I soon learned that I enjoyed helping my children with their school work and felt an accomplishment when the light bulb went on for them or when they felt they'd understand and improved their education.Because of my background, Teaching is now my passion, and improving reading literacy, my a mission. Having participated in a Professional Learning Community (PLC), at the high school level, in Colorado, I feel my experience would be invaluable as schools move to implement a PLC (Professional Learning Community). The experience of teaching in multiple grades, the creative curriculum designed for several different subjects, and my technological savvy, are a few examples of the endless possibilities I bring to the educational environment. I love teaching, and that is what I want to do.
