Leslie Smith is the Principal of the practice Gemini Accounting Pty Ltd. Her passion is working with clients to achieve the very best for their business. Excellence and service is a priority. She heads a small team of accountants and provides training and support so that they can achieve their best. The practice has over 700 clients from all sectors of the economy and it is our passion as a team to do the very best that we can for every client.She arrived in Australia from South Africa in 1999 and became a very proud citizen in 2003.Rotary is her passion. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Paddington and served as President 2010-2011. She has served on the Board for 15 years in various positions. “Service above Self” is part of her personal belief for this value is the foundation for underpinning the pursuit of sustainable peace. She is a member of the Paul Harris Society and the Bequest Society and has served the Rotary Foundation in various roles, being awarded a Citation for Meritorious Service by the Trustees of the Rotary Foundation.She serves on the Rotary Advisory Board at the University of Queensland (UQ) Rotary Centre for International Studies in Peace and Conflict Resolution. The Rotary Foundation established a “Peace Centre” in 2002 in the School of Political Science and International Studies. Rotary wished to initiate a new program that would make a practical contribution to the quest for a more peaceful world. Every year the University welcomes 10 International Students to complete a Master’s Program in Peace and Conflict Resolution. These students are the future ‘peacebuilders’ in the world and the greatest joy is sharing their journey while they study at UQ and making lifelong connections as they become ‘peacebuilders’ in the world.
