In 2014, I became the business owner of The Alternative Board, (or TAB) in the Guildford, Woking and surrounding areas, offering business owner, peer-to-peer advisory boards. This business runs alongside and complements the Enigma business strategy and advisory services, delivered in recent years and still being delivered to businesses such as Instagroup and Panorama Antennas (see below). Now a bit of history. I started work at 17, having left home and school in the middle of my A Levels; ditched my dream of being a pilot; and became an accountant – as you do! Over my career I have discovered that I have a passion for change and innovation and looking back, everything I have done has had this purpose behind it. I like to make a difference to the lives of those that I work with. This is quite simply what drives me. TAB is the perfect vehicle for this, enabling me to become immersed in the personal and business visions of those business owners and leaders that I work with.Initially I worked in finance roles before moving into general management in my late twenties. I had a varied career, quite often in troubleshooting roles, before becoming MD at Suzuki GB Cars. I followed this as CEO of Daewoo Cars UK and launched this car brand from scratch in 1994. The next phase of my career took me into independent management consultancy. I founded Enigma Management Resources to deliver my dream of “Removing the Mystery from Success” and this became the strapline for the business.
