Mya Systems is a conversational AI startup that provides customers a streamlined process for hiring at scale. Products include conversations over multiple channels with inbound and sourced candidates, automated screening and scheduling interviews for qualified candidates, and customer dashboards allowing recruiters and administrators to easily manage and track various aspects of the hiring pipeline. The services are split between the platform, integrations, and AI engineering teams.Tech Stack: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Celery, Redis, AWS, and Docker for the back-end, and JavaScript, React.js, and Redux for the front-end. At Mya, I was a backend software engineer on the platforms team. My responsibilities included tracking and fixing bugs, maintaining and increasing test coverage of existing features, and developing customer and candidate facing features, such as periodic candidate outreach tasks and building REST APIs. I also led and built the backend portion of a new self-service email feature from initial design to deployment, while closely collaborating with the front-end team to ensure the UI could be developed in parallel without delays. The new self-service email feature allowed customers to customize existing email templates to candidates for their needs, a task previously handled by the customer success team.

Competition Economics is an economic research firm that provides consultation to law firms, corporations, and government agencies. Services include industry background research, cleaning and analyzing data received during the discovery phase of lawsuits, and authoring reports to be used as evidence during hearings.As a consultant, I was responsible for project coordination with clients and case experts. This included the responsibility of being the data-lead for projects, understanding the data at a granular level, and providing insights to clients and experts. I was heavily involved with authoring portions of case reports and wrote scripts to analyze data using the statistical software Stata. I also created roadmaps for projects, defined and assigned manageable tasks for interns and research associates, and ramped up and provided mentorship for newly hired team members.

As a senior research associate, my additional responsibilities included analyzing data, creating visual analyses of data to be used in case reports, authoring sections of reports, and discovering errors in expert reports filed by the opposition by reverse-engineering data-related claims found in their reports.

As a research associate, my responsibilities included industry background research for case reports, ensuring the accuracy of facts stated in reports before submission, preparation of documents and data analysis scripts submitted for discovery, and the general support of consultants and case experts. I also learned Stata, by reading and re-implementing existing scripts, to clean and aggregate data for use in case-related analyses.
