    When the pandemic hit in 2020, my husband and I made the decision to prioritize our family, leading us to relocate to Columbia, SC. Fortunately, my role at the Fredonia Hotel in Texas allowed me to continue working remotely during this time, which provided us with some stability during the uncertainty of the pandemic.However, in January of 2023, I received a life-changing call that I was being let go from my job at the hotel. While it was a challenging moment, it also presented a unique opportunity for me. It was finally the time to pursue a dream I had been harboring for some time – starting my own business, Workery Apparel.As a business owner, I've learned invaluable lessons. Firstly, my previous roles in marketing, design, and even my time in college athletics have equipped me with skills that are crucial to the success of my business.I've also discovered that entrepreneurship demands resilience, adaptability, and a passion for continuous learning. One of my primary responsibilities was crafting advertisements and billboards. This involved leveraging my creative skills to design visually appealing and effective marketing materials that would attract guests and promote the hotel's unique offerings.Overseeing the hotel's social media presence was another integral part of my role. I was responsible for curating content, engaging with the audience, and building an online community around the Fredonia Hotel brand. In addition to digital marketing, I also had the opportunity to design menus.
