I am running as a Republican for Governor of Maine in 2010 because I cannot sit idly by when I know that, with the right people, I can help lead Maine back to prosperity. A century ago, Maine led the nation in building steel ships, pulp and paper, shoe manufacturing, linen making, commercial fishing, agricultural production, mining and recreational tourism. Times change but Maine hasn’t changed with them. It is time for Maine to lead the nation again in the 21st Century. We can create jobs, overhaul our tax system, right-size our government, end our addiction to foreign oil and make Maine more attractive for young people. Together, we can make Maine great again.
