My creative kick-start happened amid a scattering of Lego bricks. That initially led to more of an urban planning bent, however during my University adventures that slowly gave way to a more paper- and digital-based creative streak. Graphic Design was already in my blood and a career path started to take shape.I created computer programs and designed diagrams, maps and did other desktop publishing goodies for my friends and peers. During that time I also wrote, designed and printed several monthly newsletters for fun and charity. Shortly after graduation, I launched Vertexxa, a visual communications company building on those joys and skills.Not long after, a new creative canvass came along – the World Wide Web. It was love at first sight! I shifted the company focus quickly to website design and silence the basement printing presses (a healthier move no doubt too). I grew professionally as a web designer as the field blossomed and started to mature and even had the honour of creating several websites for my alma mater.During the mid-2000's, Vertexxa transitioned into the design half of a full-service marketing agency we called Falcon Innovation Group. When that ended in 2012, I transitioned the company back to it's design roots and rebranded to Insignis Design (insignis is a latin stub meaning "great"). Now over five years in and with the undying support of my awesome wife Laura, I am blessed to run the studio and carve new stories from the same home where I once sat amid those Lego bricks. Accompanied daily with our three hairy kids, Spike, Abby and Zoe, Laura and I do what we can to make the world a better place, volunteering time and talent. We strive to forward the fight against cancer, diabetes and Multiple Sclerosis that have all played far too large and wicked a role in both our extended families.Want to learn more?
