This project required travelling to Toronto for one week each month for a year. The database was installed at seven Special Loans departments across Canada. The estimated timesaving was 90,000 hours per year, based on the changes I recommended. • Designed and implemented a menu system for word processor to ease transition from typing pool based system to the world of personal computers for 50 users in the department. The typed reply time improved from 48 hours to same day within one month.• Created a process to combine data from the database and WordPerfect to issue lending authority letters to new managers. This replaced the previous system of manually typing these letters. The time reduction was from 1 day to get the letter back for signing to 3 minutes. The majority of the 3 minutes was to enter the values of the 50 variables on the input screen. The estimated time savings was 400 hours per year. The advantage was the ability to respond rapidly.• Continued managing the databases that I had developed.• From 1988 to 1991, I received seven cash awards for projects/ideas. After that time, I was asked to stop submitting suggestions.• Received three notes of appreciation for customer service. -

This included a full process catch new records, ensure all downloaded data was loaded to the database and ensure the new balances equaled the downloaded total. -
