I’ve served and partnered with many nonprofit organizations and local government representatives to better the community and lead redevelopment in downtown Amarillo and beyond. A champion of local business and community building, I have worked hard to help grow a robust economy and vibrant culture.- Co-chaired a fundraising campaign with the former mayor of Amarillo to begin the first engineering program at West Texas A&M.- Worked to create and serve as first board president of Downtown Amarillo Inc., an organization created to spur redevelopment.- As board member of the Local Government Corp. appointed by city council, drive redevelopment initiatives including 3 major construction projects set to be completed in 2019: a convention hotel, parking garage, and baseball stadium.- Raised $5.5M, a fundraising record, for the 2003 United Way campaign as co-chair.

I joined the Amarillo Globe-News in 2002 and hit the ground running with 4 consecutive years of EBITA growth. I oversaw operating revenues and more than 200 employees including 6 department heads (newsroom, advertising, accounting, production, circulation, and HR). From 2012-2017, I was entrusted with additional responsibilities as Regional Publisher and led Morris markets in Alaska, Minnesota, Arkansas, and Texas.I served as the public face of the Globe-News and directed the editorial page to ensure alignment of the message with the vision and values of the organization. I prioritized community engagement through events like the Amarillo Route 66 Festival attended by 20,000 people, the Man & Woman of the Year and Athlete of the Year banquets, and a Charity Roast that raised $100K for local nonprofits over 2 years.Select Achievements:- Conceptualized and launched Amarillo Magazine in 2007, capturing significant revenue growth.- Introduced website enhancements including continuous updates. - Worked with advertising clients to improve SEO/SEM strategy resulting in better visibility and marketing value.- Regularly surpassed EBITA / cash flow of larger Morris Communications markets.- Initiated and deployed AGNTV website, a video-dedicated news platform that increased traffic by roughly 500%.- Raised money and secured naming rights for the Globe-News Center for Performing Arts.- Represented AGN at the International Research & Exchange media program in Sumy, Ukraine.- Selected to participate in the National Security Forum conducted by the USAF.
