Whilst still a full time Uni student I started a very successful business selling clothes at Paddys Market. After back packing the world for 18 months I taught commercial law at UNSW and Revenue law at Syd U. From 1987 I became a tax consulting partner with Horwaths and then Deloitte. I wrote several books, gave lectures and took a lead role in marketing through financial media PR. Over 20 years as a partner taught me a great deal about business, and in particular how to structure transactions. In my heart I have remained a businessman and deal doer. I started angel investing in 1999 and since a substantial exit in 2004 I have increasingly involved myself in the world of angel and VC investment. In 2009 I left Deloitte to dedicate my efforts entirely to angel and VC investing. Two of the businesses which I seed funded, Microequities & Siteminder, have been listed and I remain a director of both.I cofounded the VC funds manager EVP in 2014 with Howard Leibman. EVP actively manages several VC funds and syndicates and has several hundred "sophisticated investors" as clients. In addition to Chairing the EVP Investment Committee my time is spent as a non-executive director of several startups and I continue to angel invest in early stage businesses.
Listed skills include Angel Investing, Non Executive Director, Investment Banking, Business Strategy, and 19 others.
