Very excited to have accepted the position of Director of Occupational Health and Safety at the University of Oxford after having operated in an interim capacity for the last fourteen months. Responsible for the Safety Office and the Occupational Health Department. These are established and highly valued influences over the health and safety arrangements at this world class research and teaching institution. This is a hugely exciting time to be holding this post at the University as a major review of the health and safety system and safety culture is nearing completion, and we are starting to model some exciting new approaches that ensure health, safety and wellbeing are valued enablers for continued organisational success here at Oxford . The teams I am now directing continue to make a very significant contribution to ensuring the University is COVID-19 safe and secure, and we will be working together to ensure the the best possible contribution to the University and the sector.

We believe we are now modelling a safety management system and culture that will ensure health, safety, and wellbeing are able to make valued contributions to the continued success of the University. The teams I am now directing continue to make significant contributions to ensuring the University is COVID-19 safe and secure during the current phase of the pandemic, but we are starting to set out the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy for the next five years. -
