Tamas Letoha, MD, PhD, CEO of Pharmacoidea Ltd. is coordinating the company's scientific and financial aspects. Dr. Letoha earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in the Medical Faculty of the University of Szeged, Hungary. During his PhD fellowship he received several pharmaceutical awards and also revealed a novel mechanism for the in vivo delivery of gene-therapeutic tools intracellularly. Dr. Letoha's scientific endevours later earned Pharmacoidea the financial support of Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) thru COMPACT, a consortium developing the macromolecular therapeutics of the future. Dr. Letoha’s other R&D activities include the prevention/cure of amyloid diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, produced by „protein aggregates”, that earned the honour for Pharmacoidea to participate in IMI’s AETIONOMY for the development of molecular based taxonomies for neurodegenerative disorders. Dr. Letoha’s achievements with Pharmacoidea earned him the Role Model of the Year Award, an award presented by the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán.
