During my nursing career I have worked with post-surgical patients in a certified inpatient Hip and Knee Center at Methodist North Hospital. The primary population was geriatrics who underwent surgical repair or total replacement of hips and knees, learning to walk again while gaining much needed strength. This journey extended from 2011-2014 when I transitioned into my current role as a Certified Wound and Ostomy Specialist. I have had the opportunity to work closely with Surgeons and Hospitalist as we collaborate to navigate evidence based care to each individual patient. I continue my education through CEUs (continuing education courses) and Conferences that are specific to my expertise.
