The Cyber Security Hall of Fame will represent the mission: “Respect the Past-Protect the Future” and will honor the innovative individuals and organizations which had the vision and leadership to create the foundational building blocks for the Cyber Security Industry. The Cyber Security Hall of Fame will honor leaders in the five areas that define the Cyber Security ecosystem. • Technology: Those leaders who conceived, invented, and built technology that created the foundation for the industry and led to substantial improvement, on a widespread basis, in the ability to protect the information and systems in the cyber domain. Such technology should have had enduring value and groundbreaking impact.• Policy: Those leaders in the public and private sectors who have had the vision to create policy that would provide focus to the government and the private sector with regard to those things which need to be done to ensure that the information and systems in the Nation’s cyber domains can be adequately protected. • Public Awareness: Those individuals who have effectively promoted an understanding of the threats and vulnerabilities associated with the Cyber domain through books, film, reporting, and conferences/conventions designed to raise the public’s awareness.• Education: Those educational leaders that have pioneered in the development and sustainment of curriculum development, research and educational programs in the field of cyber security, and related disciplines such as computer security, information security, information systems security, and communications security.• Business: Recognizing business leaders that utilized technology and built sustainable businesses that made a foundational impact in building the Cyber Security Industry.
