The NM Economic Development Partnership is the outreach branch of NM Economic Development Department. It is our job to increase visibility and awareness of the State of New Mexico's assets, resources, and competitive advantages. Ultimately, we seek to bring companies and solid jobs to the State through recruitment efforts targeted at industry professionals.

My responsibilities included interviewing and hiring new employees, developing training plans, conducting training, and performance evaluations. In addition to the overall management of the Recruitment Team, I analyzed internal reports, identified market opportunities, determined departmental goals and developed marketing strategy to achieve those goals.

In the Manager of Recruitment position, I was responsible for the training and supervision of 13 marketing department employees, assisting with interviewing and hiring of new employees, evaluation of performance and reccomendation of pertinent actions, analysis of reports, market opportunities, goal-setting, budgets, developing local marketing events, and.

My position was a blend of laboratory administration and benchtop work in a BSL-2 environment. I began to pursue my MBA while in this position to expand my capabilities in the business aspect of my career.

I performed various office tasks, including client interface, database interaction, filing, et cetera. I also contributed marketing ideas and handled several mass mailings as well as organizing events. This was a part-time job while attending UNM (and CNM) full-time.
