I am an experienced primary leader and teacher of 23 years, teaching in many schools in the Warwickshire and Worcestershire areas. Throughout my career, I have taught from preschool to year six in a range of first schools and primary schools. I have an excellent, up to date knowledge and appreciation of primary education and improvement. I have confidently and successfully led several EYFS departments, including through the OFSTED inspection process. During my career, I have been an enthusiastic and inspirational subject leader in English, Maths and many other non-core subjects. I have been SENDCo in several schools and have a good up to date knowledge of SEND provision and practice in primary education.I believe that it is possible to fulfil the EYFS curriculum through quality provision and practice centred around play, exploration and discovery, so that children can start their journey as lifelong learners. Through skilled questioning, which enhances learning and quality back and forth conversation, which values the child's input and ideas, we can capture learning through the child's interests as well as offering deliberate learning intentions. Through providing children with the space, opportunities and resources to play, explore and discover, the passion for learning is ignited!
