A dual function role concentrating on data modelling but with core information architecture responsibilities. Acting as the group’s logical data modeller, working with architects, application developers, analysts and users to support development teams and data consumers by developing fully attributed logical models.Achievements on this project:• Development of information architecture standards and guidelines.• Development of data model patterns around E/R, Class modelling and Dimensional modelling suitable for Investment management• Development of an E/R and a Dimensional model (logical model) for the company Fund Data Warehouse• Knowledge transfer and review of the physical data model developed by the implementation team in Geneva.• Training/mentoring associates in data modeling and database design• Design of a Bulk Publication/Subscription architecture from the data warehouse to downstream application based on XML and XSD.

The role of this project is to build a data warehouse for Client reporting and to support end-to-end processes for Report Ordering, report production and report delivery.My main role on this project was to take part on Business workshops and to turn the business requirements into a technical solution and into a multi dimensional model that supports the business processes. I used Star Schemas, using the Kimball Methodology, and also abstract model (Party Role) to give more flexibility to the data model. I also designed and developed a Document Ordering Management System (using both ER, OO and XML/XSD)

My main role on this project was to do the optimization of the UBS General Ledger Database to run analytical reports in a timely manner. The main complexity came from the fact the General Ledger was updated round the clock. Consequently, most of Data Warehouse best practices couldn't be used. The main ideas of my optimizations were around how to turn an OLTP data model into a star schema one with the minimum of changes. I managed a work stream composed by 5 experts (Business, dba, Business Objects, PM, architect). I proposed many optimizations and developed a prototype so the domain experts were able to decide which optimizations would go live. The prototype was composed by a new data model, PL/SQL ETL processes and Business Objects XI Universe and reports. I also provided a matrix Cost/Benefit that helped UBS prioritizing the optimizations to implement.Then, I led the impact analysis on such changes on downstream applications: Balance Sheet, Regulatory reporting, Consolidation.

For the London Local Service Provider (LSP), team leader of the data warehouse design team. This data warehouse supports statutory reports used by the department of health and by the Strategic Health Authorities. This is currently the biggest IT project in Europe, and one of the biggest data warehouse (around 10Tera per year)My roles on this project were:• To Team lead a four data modeler team• To design of an Operational Data Store (ODS) compliant with the nationwide NHS data model• To design the star schema data warehouse (Kimball approach)• To design of the user security layer using latest Oracle • To liaise with the suppliers that were in charge of the development of the solution• To ensure that the performance of the IM system will be sufficient• To propose a new approach for gathering analytical reporting needs

I used latest Oracle 9 XML and object features in the design of the OLTP modules.I designed all the interfaces between the new inventory system, the existing ordering system and the automation system provided by TAP. I managed a team of 4 PL/SQL developers.• Development of data martsI used Oracle XML messages to feed the staging area from the operational system, and I designed a solution to deal with as is/as was version of the data. Design and development of a Data Warehouse using retail data held in Siebel 7. Basically, all the entities available in Siebel are present in the Data Warehouse.• Data Warehouse and data mart designAfter analyzing the reporting needs, I designed a snowflake data model to enable reporting at the low and aggregate level. Due to frequent BAT re-organization, I designed an AS IS History re-assignment engine, based on a VBA user interface and PL/SQL procedures. It enables BAT to perform change in its organization and having it replicated in the history held in the Data Warehouse.•Development of the Data WarehouseBusiness requirements gathering, design of ETL specifications using Siebel Tools. Then, with my three developer team, we developed all the population processes using PL/SQL.
