About Levi Barnett-Zeman

I have a strong foundation in economic theory and data analysis, with a focus on labour and macroeconomics. My current role is with the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) as an Economist within the Tariff Department, where I contribute to research efforts for the Physician Payment Committee (PPC) and Technical Working Fee Group (TWFG). My role involves conducting economic research to update billing code fees, facilitate fee setting, modeling/estimating new fee costs, and developing updated costing methodologies.I graduated with an MA in Economics from Queen's University, where I conducted quantitative and qualitative research on various topics, such as the cyclicality of Canadian real wages and hours worked, and the macro labour market impacts of an increase to the Canadian minimum wage. During my academic journey, I held several economic research positions at institutions like York University and Brock University. I also gained valuable experience as an Intern at Limestone Analytics, an economic consultancy firm that specializes in development projects.I am passionate about economics because it explains how our society functions and how people interact with one another. My goal is to provide economic intuition, insight, and research that can inform policy and decision-making. While addressing the challenges and opportunities facing our world.
