The Sypkes family has multi-generational experience in retail, property development and business investment.I was employed specifically to perform business analysis, process improvement and change management within the group, resulting in the following projects:• Design and rollout of a new construction WHS system for property maintenance, minor works and construction projects, ensuring compliance with current safety regulations• Development of umbrella agreements for inter-entity property management and construction activity (linked with WHS system)• Rollout of new cloud based commercial property management system, replacing a previous manual setup

Circle Housing is one of the UK's largest providers of affordable housing with 70,000 homes across the country. In this role, my responsibilities included:• Building and implementation of a three year delivery program based on the agreed budget (approx. £26 million per annum), the available stock data, local partner requirements, and incorporating the investment priorities detailed in the asset management strategy• Oversight and monitoring the delivery of all contracts in the London and Birmingham areas ensuring compliance with legislative requirements• Reporting monthly on budget and delivery forecast and actualsThroughout the time spent at Circle Housing, I redesigned the tool and process within the region I was responsible for, which enabled the organisation to accurately and efficiently track and forecast expenditure – something not previously possible. This was well received, and I was subsequently asked to assist my two colleagues in other regions to set up and roll out the same system. This also resulted in being shortlisted for a business-wide innovation award.

Hazell Bros Group (hazellbros.com.au): A civil and building construction, resources and industrial services firm with an annual turnover of approximately AU$200m per annum.The Business Improvement function was introduced in early 2013 to Hazell Bros Group to drive improvement and change initiatives throughout the business. Responsibilities:• Managed change initiatives, including the integration of the Earthmoving and Transport division into the Construction business unit• Performed business process management and improvement. Key achievement was the creation of an end-to-end Process Manual for the Concrete business unit• Conducted business analysis and provided change management support in multiple areas of the business

Project Information: Hazell Bros Group was awarded the contract to clean up and rehabilitate all southern Tasmanian properties affected by the devastating bushfires that occurred in January 2013. The project was completed by June 2013, employed 50 people and was worth AU$5.2m. Hazell Bros received strong positive feedback on speed of project mobilisation and balanced response to various demands throughout the project.Responsibilities:• Worked alongside multiple government departments in an emergency response scenario• Developed and managed project, safety, environmental, quality and resource management plans to balance the time, political, community and company pressures of the project• Designed and implemented project controls such as asbestos handling procedures• Performed television and radio media interviews and updates• Commercially and contractually managed the project, including structured monthly reports relating to project deliverables

Contract information: Primarily Tasmanian state government public housing maintenance contract (Housing Tasmania). Hazell Bros performed residential and commercial property maintenance and renovation works worth in excess of AU$17m per annum.Responsibilities:• Managed 11 staff members and up to 80 subcontractors• Managed relationships with Housing Tasmania and other stakeholders. Included strategic planning of resource allocation and negation of additional works outside contract• Interpreted contracts and resolved contractual disputes• Monitored, improved and reported on contractual and company KPIs• Reported performance against agreed business plan to senior management• Oversaw the development and rollout of new IT management system software (based on Microsoft CRM)• Developed and implemented the business unit Safety Management Plan• Coordinated the Housing Tasmania and Mission Australia maintenance contract tenders

The range of services included purchasing, property renovation, property management and residential development. Responsibilities:• Managed the Rock Rentals (property management) division of the business, which included approximately 900 investment properties for 600 clients• Designed and implemented a process and procedure system for Rock Rentals • Managed a multidisciplinary team, including project, maintenance and property managers• Advised new and existing clients in the key decisions for their residential investment portfolio, and provided support during the implementation process• Regularly contributed to the overall business management (as part of executive position)• Coordinated “People in Need” projects, designed to support less fortunate individuals identified by staff members in day-to-day operation of the business
