About Levi Davis

My passion lies in using technology to solve problems. From manufacturing technology and hands-on shop skills to programming and design work, using technology to develop creative and cost-effective solutions to problems is what makes me tick.I started my career assembling regulators for the natural oil and gas industry as a teenager where I discovered just how amazing manufacturing technology is. Fueled by my intrigue and passion for the creative aspects that the wide range of manufacturing processes requires —there is always myriad approaches that could be taken to meet design specifications — I quickly advanced in this field eventually working side-by-side with production engineers to develop manufacturing processes from the ground up for parts from companies like Lockheed, NASA, Boeing, and many more.In 2016 I began my pursuit of a mechanical engineering degree, but about 2 years into it I realized that while I knew quite a bit about design, manufacturing, and mathematics, I knew next to nothing about what made these technologies possible. So, I decided to change my major to computer engineering — and I am so glad I did! A few years— and many sleepless nights studying for exams—later, I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Computer Engineering from the University of Arkansas in 2022 with a GPA of 3.5/4.0.The knowledge that I have gained from my education about both the hardware fundamentals of digital systems, and what kinds of software and networks those architectures enable modern computing to achieve and how they are implemented, coupled with my manufacturing experience, make me an extremely well-rounded engineer who is able to abstract himself from the problem and draw insight from many diverse experiential backgrounds.Programming Skills:C++, C, C#, Visual Basic, VHDL, Verilog, Java, x86 Assembly, G-code, M-code, Unity, Git, GitHub.Shop Skills:Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining (Setup and operation), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), tooling design, cutting tool grinding, inventory catalogue and management, Solidworks, Water Jet, sheet metal fabrication, welding (MIG, SMAW), 3D printing
