Helping clients build and establish their savings while increasing credit.

My goal at ProCare is to help my clients achieve the highest possible level of independence. I diligently coordinate structured treatment plans for my clients and their families, and help them track progress through maintaining thorough files. I also occasionally visit my clients to check in on their care and to address their needs, one-on-one. Currently, I serve a case load of about 100 clients throughout the Metro Detroit area.

While at the Judson Center, I worked with a team to help implement different behavior plans for children ages six to 16 years of age. Here I honed my teaching skills while also becoming QBS qualified and certified in First Aid/CPR. I also regularly participated in Relias Learning workshops. My daily tasks included tracking client progress via ACE management system and updating parents/guardians and logging communication via eHeart. My team appreciated my attention to detail and my level-headedness.

Supervision of a staff of fifteen Direct Care Workers in a residential facility serving consumers with developmental disabilities. Responsible for day-to-day managerial oversight of the organization’s operations, specific to the care and service of ninety high-need residents. Also responsible for enforcing work rules and practices, assuring appropriate case documentation, managing staff, implementing behavior treatment plans and assuring the proper and accurate distribution of resident’s medications. Other duties include planning and conducting staff meetings and individual staff supervisions and performing monthly staff training sessions on topics ranging from new policy and procedures to preparation for weather emergencies.

Provided community support services and activities for developmentally disabled adults. Assisted consumers in achieving personal goals and attaining the highest level of independence in the community. Duties included, assisting consumers pursuing increased independence in accordance with their service plans and facilitating increased autonomy through activities such as volunteering, socialization and supported employment.

Coordinated the sale of musical instruments and supplies in a small music store, serving the Kalamazoo community. Excelled at customer support and service, matching consumer with the most appropriate and cost effect solution to their musical instrument needs. Other duties included scheduling student lessons, cash drawer management, preparing bank deposits and instrument repair. Also responsible for opening and closing business.

Acquired an enhanced understanding of techniques and strategies for delivering daily living, communication and social skill training to autistic children within a school setting. Additional skill sets developed in the area of behavioral plan implementation. Received extensive on the job training with the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Other important skills learned included daily progress documentation, as well as writing and interpreting diagnostic reports.

Coordinated the care of autistic children in a respite setting. Developed skills in the area of empathy, problem solving, dispensing of medications and behavior plan implementation.
