I recently started and launched OptSpot™. OptSpot™ (OS) is a company providing businesses with Smart Tablet Technology™ (STT™). This type of technology is an automated way to add customers to a database, reconnect automatically with those who have not checked-in in a given amount of days and tracks loyalty. This all takes place using a smart, easy to use tablet. OptSpot™ and Smart Tablet Technology™ is changing the game in the local store marketing segment and I'm super excited to be providing these services to customers across the country.Prior to OptSpot™In 2007 my business partner and I started BoomText. At the time, text message marketing was pretty much brand new in the states, so trying to get customers to try it was very difficult. Fortunately we were able to gain some early traction when we became the approved vendor for Chick-fil-A. We soon became a very well known text marketing company in the QSR (quick service restaurant) space and became the approved partner for companies like SONIC and Jamba Juice. After just a few years BoomText was purchased by CommerceTel, which has now rebranded as Mobivity. After several years running operations for BoomText and merging four companies together with the recent acquisitions, I was able to get out of the office and work as the SVP of Business Development. I have over 6 years experience in the text message marketing space and have helped over 5000 units succeed using text message marketing.

FounderOptspot Feb 2013 - PresentOptSpot™ (OS) is a company providing businesses with Smart Tablet Technology™ (STT™). Using STT™, our clients are able to capture their customer's mobile number with one easy step. They then have the option to add to an SMS list, email list or any other list they want to use automatically. This STT™ also becomes a Loyalty Tracker. Every time a customer stops by your place of business, they simply enter their phone number into the tablet to 'Check-in' and after a certain number of 'Check-Ins' they can be rewarded immediately through an SMS confirmation message. Finally, this type STT™ keeps track of frequency and if your customer has not 'Checked-In' within a given amount of time (set by the client) they will receive a custom message inviting them back in to see you. This type of technology is an automated way to add customers to a database, reconnect automatically with those who have not checked-in in a given amount of days and tracks loyalty, all in one smart, easy to use tablet. -

I sold my half to Spencer in December 2010 and Spencer recently sold to CommerceTel in which Spencer and I continue employment. I ran the operations for the company, while Spencer ran the sales division. We've been best friends since Jr. High School and have always wanted to start a business together. The timing just worked out and the idea was there thanks to Spencer. We were not sure the text marketing would actually work, but we did know we would work super hard and have a ton of fun and that we did! It's a little bitter sweet now that we do not own the company, but all in all it was a great experience and we are now a part of a strong mobile marketing company. We've learned so much over the past 6 years from start-up to being acquired and feel the experience really is invaluable. We'll both never forget the experience and who knows, maybe do it again someday!
