As Outside Sales Lighting Control Specialist with JC Wright Lighting I am responsible for managing and growing sales in my Eastern WA, and Northern ID territory. My focus is on lighting controls for commercial construction projects as required by Federal and State Energy Codes, engineer specifications and end user desires. I work closely with my customers and vendors to ensure the proper layout, installation, and programming of a broad range of lighting control manufacturers and technologies including: occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, astronomical time scheduling, lighting scene controls, theatrical lighting controls, building management system integration, energy efficient LEED projects, wireless lighting controls, remote monitoring etc.

At Graybar I was responsible for order processing and inside sales support of our large Comm/Data account base and helped to maintain sales budgets and reinforce our outside sales team. I had a good grasp of the vast number of manufacturers and technologies we supported and enjoyed providing our large variety of clients with product & logistics solutions along with top-notch customer service. I was responsible for managing large project orders for shipment all over the continental United States and for developing relationships with project managers, purchasing agents and installers who would come to Graybar for industry leading products and to me for industry leading customer service.

My career in the electrical industry began at Crescent Electric Supply. I was hired to be inside sales support for Eastern WA and Northern ID for the emerging data/communications market segment. Before I began this position however, I went through an extensive training period that allowed me to have a good grasp on the world of wholesale distribution. This included working up through the warehouse, shipping, counter sales and customer service departments. During this time I also worked for several months as an apprentice Comm/Data installer with one of our main customers to get exposure to real construction site conditions and operations. After a year of working as inside sales support I was promoted to Outside Sales and given direct responsibility over four local Crescent branches in supporting and growing Comm/Data sales. During this time I was heavily involved in managing large projects and conducting product training both in-house and for customers. The products and manufacturers I dealt included Comm/Data, Fiber Optics, Audio/Video, Surveillance, Security, Intercom, and even Home Theater technologies. In 2010 the opportunity presented itself and I changed my product focus to become part of the inside project management team handling quotations and gear projects. I went through further extensive training on gear equipment through GE and Siemens, but finally had to make the tough decision to return to Comm/Data sales in June of 2011.
