Air Force CE Officers oversee/handle a multitude of operations involving construction, maintenance, operations, base defense, bio/chem defense, and countless other duties. They usually operate in large squadrons and oversee, if not supervise, a fair amount of people. Squadrons can range in size from a couple dozen to several hundred, usually having a small number of officers. I have led flights ranging in size from 10 to 290 civilian and military personnel, covering over 20 different AFSCs and MOSs.

Cadets at the Air Force Academy are taught an array of things ranging from intense academics and athletics to small unit assault tactics and military strategy/history. While at USAFA, I held numerous leadership positions, including squadron executive officer, squadron flight commander, squadron element leader, and many others. The lessons are countless and the experience/wisdom gained is priceless from attending USAFA.
