Worked in the Litigation Department with the Environmental, Energy, and Employment Practice Groups.Representative Matters:▪ Successfully defended injury discrimination claim under the District of Columbia Human Rights Act at the administrative hearing stage and on appeal▪ Successfully defended airline against personal injury claim by employee as barred under state workers’ compensation laws, including investigation of injury site, gathering and review of injury reports and medical records, and briefing of legal issues ▪ Assisted solid waste processor with challenge to Pennsylvania county’s approval of waste management plan that designates two competing landfills as exclusive sites for disposal of solid waste within the county▪ Worked on complex litigation in Circuit Court for Loudoun County, Virginia, involving collapse of hangar that crushed private jets valued at approximately $500 million▪ Litigated petition for writ of mandamus before United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit challenging Food and Drug Administration inaction on food additive regulation▪ As lead counsel, successfully defended commercial contract claim tried in Maryland state district court ▪ Participated in representation of municipal airport in challenge to state water permit decision▪ Assisted in representation of Virginia county government in National Environmental Policy Act challenge to freeway expansion

▪ Investigated West Virginia pesticide plant for RCRA, Clean Water Act, and Clean Air Act violations, interviewing potential witnesses and reviewing state monitoring records▪ Assisted with discovery and motions practice for Clean Water Act case in Los Angeles County, including preparations for expert depositions and analysis of deposition transcripts ▪ Researched and drafted portions of supporting brief in appeal to Second Circuit Court of Appeals on regulations for use of Methyl Bromide as a fumigant in packing materials▪ Helped draft amicus brief filed with the California Supreme Court on deceptive environmental labeling
