About Aaron Levisohn, Phd
I am a User Researcher and Design Strategist with a passion for understanding people and how they interact with and through technology. I am fluent in user-centered design concepts and have experience in all phases of the development cycle from ethnography through implementation. With a strong background in design, computer science, and physical computing I am equally skilled at creating mockups and physical prototypes. My ideal position would allow me to utilize my talents for research, ideation, and prototyping to help solve wicked design problems from the ground up using design thinking methods.I am currently a Principal User Researcher at PagerDuty managing a small UXR team. My prior professional experience includes employment at Scotiabank, Eastman Kodak Co., and Samsung Information Systems, Inc. In these numerous roles I conducted research using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods, ran usability studies and implemented software and hardware prototypes. In 2014 I earned my doctorate with a focus on embodied cognition and movement-based interaction from Simon Fraser University. Principal User Researcher
CurrentI manage a small team of UX Researchers supporting over 40 Product Designers and Owners across the organization. In additional to conducting, coordinating and managing user research projects across the organization, I have undertaken numerous initiatives to increase access to research in order to enable the scaling of research at PagerDuty. Through the procurement of tools to support remote unmoderated testing, participant recruiting, and knowledge sharing I facilitated a dramatic increase in usability testing across numerous teams. I began the "Research Community", a panel of PagerDuty users interested in providing feedback and supporting research initiatives who could be quickly called to action. I developed and deployed the User Happiness Score to measure satisfaction of features across our platform using both qualitative feedback and quantitative metrics. I developed and managed our in-app user feedback program using the UMUX-Lite framework to provide PMs direct access to timely user feedback and ratings and supervised the NPS program, extending it beyond account owners to include end-users as well.
