My responsibilities at AKRF include performing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and addressing the hazardous materials aspects of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs). I also provide oversight for site investigations and remediation projects, as well as, navigate regulatory requirements for projects in the New York State (NYS) Superfund program, Brownfield Cleanup Program, NYS and NYC Voluntary Cleanup Programs, and (E) Designation program.

Developing novel asymmetric chiral ligands to determine if they can force Heck reactions to form only one enantiomer of the chiral product. Work 6-12 hours a week in the laboratory during the school year and worked 40 hours a week during the summer of 2011.More than 50% of prescription drugs today are chiral. The use of chiral ligands to force chemical reactions to form a specific isomer could cut costs of pharmaceutical development of many presciption drugs, making them cheaper and more available to the public.
