Development of the system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls by successfully transitioning the firm to streamlined project management, client billing, and accounting system. Oversight of accounting operations related to AP, AR, balance sheet reconciliation, and month end close.

Developing comprehensive financial strategy and standard operating procedures during rapid expansion in the commercial real estate and construction industry. Provide critical financial information such as cash flow projections and financial reports to owners and outside investors in order to accurately bid, plan, fund and complete projects vital to the company’s success.

Oversight of annual budgeting process from coordination with managers through approval and implementation. Managed financial data of over 20 individual grant funds with 4 program managers. Provided teams with up to date financial data and forecasted cash flow to assist in successful completion of projects. Collaborated with multiple outside partners on the production of progress reports and invoices for state and federal agencies. Managed investor and banking partnerships for endowment funds and donor advised funds. Prepared and presented quarterly financial reports to Board of Directors in order to provide timely information to aid in strategic decisions. Successfully coordinated with independent auditors to assist in successful completion of annual audit. Developed standard operating procedures and improved automation of several key accounting operations in order to provide more timely and accurate financial information.

Instructed a monthly best practices accounting course for business owners at the Mira Costa College Small Business Development Center. Class size averaged around 15 business owners and focused on how to properly set up accounting systems and controls, business entity structures and tax strategies.

Worked closely with clients to assist with annual audit and attest services. Served as client liaison and performed controller level accounting services for multiple clients. Developed and presented financial reports, annual budgets, and key performance indicators to stakeholders to help them achieve business success.
