Our most recent accomplishments were bringing to light the… Show more The Brown Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves those in need as well as seeks to preserves the environment (We opened an Environmental Justice Center in Prince William and Stafford Counties on September 2, 2013 and have been fighting for Environmental Rights for clean air, water, and soil ever since) Presently we are seeking to preserve the heritage of those who played in the Negro League and made it to the MBL. Our most recent accomplishments were bringing to light the accomplishment of Earl Lloyd being the first Afro-American to play in the NBA (we actually have an original autographed NBA Basketball that he signed for my dad in 1967) and bringing attention to the works of Minnie Minnoso who played with the Negro League of Baseball and hailed from Cuba. We also have an original baseball that was signed by this man in 1955. Both items will be on display at the Afro-American Museum in Alexandria, Va and then at the one in Hammond, Louisiana coming this Fall 2015.The Brown Foundation also serves in writing and researching grants and research proposals for the areas of Environmental Toxicology, Environmental Health, Education, daycare facilities (home and professional settings) and many other diverse areas. The Brown Foundation also serves as a public speaking until for the community and the CEO/Founder and the CFO/Co-Founder, Dr. Shamira A. J. Brown, often engage in public speaking with various schools (Elementary through High school and some colleges) in the areas of Career Day and Afro-American History. Show less

In this position I service as an Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry consultant for the ecological and fate effects of pollutants in soil, air, and water as related to effects on living organisms.

Worked on Environmental Risk Assessments dealing with new chemical and new crop registration as well as Registration Review Chemicals. Also, works with the assemblage of the Federal Endangered Species Database in conjunction with US FWS. Engages in public speaking on various issues of concern dealing with pesticides. While I enjoyed my time there it was time for me to move on to bigger and better blessings that GOD has placed on my life.
