I initially started working in hospitality when I was around 17. I worked Part Time as a Kitchen Team Member. My job entailed pot washing, making starters and desserts. I then applied for a job at Grantham Premier Inn as a night porter which was more hours and a little more responsibility. After doing that I was determined to achieve more, so I moved onto days to become a receptionist, to learn and develop myself. At this point I had a lot of interaction with guests so I had to make sure my customer service was excellent all the time, and I learnt to always go above and beyond to make their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. As I moved onto days I also became a lot better at working as a team and I developed very good relationships with them.I then transferred to Lincoln City centre Premier Inn, working in the restaurant, bar and within housekeeping. As part of my development I wanted to work in all areas of the business before I progressed. I then became Duty manager and I found I really enjoyed the new challenges that came my way. I worked hard to support my Assistant Manager and Operations Manager by taking on extra jobs to help them, which actually benefited me as I gained a taste of a managerial role. As a Duty Manager I lead team meetings, organised my team to an efficient way, and also helped guide new starters in becoming the best they could be. I then became Assistant Manager at Melton Mowbray. We delivered the best results the site has ever seen since it opened, for example our breakfast service and quality, dinner service and quality, room cleanliness, overall team service and our NPS has significantly improved. This lead to my current role at Beefeater Roman way, which is the second biggest Beefeater in the UK. This is an extremely busy restaurant and often the pressure is high. This is a role I took on to be closer to home as travelling to Melton Mowbray everyday was just not sustainable.
