I am currently employed by Bryken Ltd as a CNC Machinist (Programmer, Setter and Operator). Whilst working here I have completed a level 4 qualification, a Higher National Certificate in Manufacturing Engineering. The modules I studied was Engineering Design, Engineering Maths, Engineering Science and Computer Aided Design and Manufacture (CAD/CAM), Quality and Process Improvement and Production Engineering for Manufacture. My daily tasks involve reporting to the supervisor/production manager, set up and maintenance of CNC machines and tools for example check oil and coolant levels, make sure my work area is kept tidy, visually inspect my own work using vernier calipers, micrometers, bore, thread, plug and air gauges and on various CMM’s, program and set CNC machines from technical engineering drawings.

I was employed by Spromak Ltd as a CNC Machinist (Programmer, Setter and Operator) checking components and keeping to within tolerances using various measuring equipment including: Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Bore & Thread Gauges and FARO Arm manual CMM using Aberlink Software. I was employed by Pipeline Technique Ltd as a Field Joint Coating Technician based in the Coating Centre in Huntly on a 6 weeks on 3 weeks off rotation. I have participated in PQT's, PPT's and various in house trails for future projects.• Grinding/Buffing• FBE removal• FBE & CMPP removal• Induction heating coil• Heat profiles• The set up of a Roberts coating cutter• Assisted Bredero Shaw using their Injection Moulded Polypropylene (IMPP) machine.• Assisted Selmers using their heat coating, wheel abrader and vacuum blaster machines.

In Batam on Inpex's Ichthys Project I was part of the FJC repair crew whilst spooling was taking place on the 12" pipe, tasks involved buffing, manual blasting, induction heating coil, automatic coating frame, assist Bredero Shaw with their IMPP mould, set up and maintenance checks of all equipment and tools.

I was employed by Spromak Ltd as a CNC Machinist (Programmer, Setter and Operator) and I have completed a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Technology to become a qualified mechanical manufacturing engineer. Whilst working there I adapted quickly to the working environment and machinery around me. The jobs I manufactured in Spromak on the CNC lathes were Buttweld Outlets, Threaded Outlets, Socket Outlets, Lateral Outlets, Nipple Outlets, Elbow Outlets, Insert Branch Outlets, Flanged Branch Outlets all for Oil and Gas companies. I was working on MAZAK turning and milling machines using the Mazatrol software.

I was employed by Newfab Services as an Apprentice Machinist/Fabricator were I gained a NVQ Level 2 in Engineering, I also gained knowledge of working in a team, independently, programming, setting and operating CNC machines and tools for example MIG and MMA welder, Gas cutter (oxy-acetylene) and machinery and how working in a working environment is.
