My younger brother who was born 3 months premature and has a learning disability and a global development delay and has difficulties in social situations. I've helped him to learn how to cook, keep his personal hygiene up to standard and domestic cleaning up to standard so that when he leaves home he will be able to support himself. Guide him through different social situations and the consequences of his actions so he makes the right choices and is not easily influenced. I have a very caring nature and love helping people and giving nonjudgmental advice etc, I'm a good team player and quick learner. As I have lived in London and have many connections there, I am seeking full time employment there due to the increased opportunities in London. As I’ve previously mentioned I love to help people whether it be in another customer service role, support working, care working or hospitality management where I believe I either have direct experience or transferable skillsThe reasons why I want this job are real simple for me, I want to be able to support and help others that are not as fortunate as I am and the feeling I get from doing I can’t put into words but what I can say is that I normally assume the role with friends as the person they can come to with their problems and really just need an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry. I am able to do that, but that is just half story and I feel that will be the same case in a role like this, I seem to have a tendancy to use common sense and give non – judgmental, impartial advice to try and resolve people problems and issues and instead of tell them whats wrong but allow them to do it themselves or give them the tools to do so. I also feel I can empathise a great deal with people in their time as ive had difficult times in my personal and family so I can draw from my own experience to help and guide others in their lives and I feel this role will allow me to do this on a larger scale which really intrigues and excites me.
