I led the development and delivery of financial planning and analysis for Hallmark International,providing insight and recommendations regarding operations, financials and strategy. I was responsible for budgeting, forecasting and reporting all elements of sales and gross profit across the business. My analysis and communications were relied on by operators to effectively run the business, and senior directors in aligning a diverse set of categories and functions to a common and agreed view.• Improved the sales forecasting process around the key trading period of Christmas, resulting in multi-million pound savings through reduced waste, whilst also maximising sales as Asda performed ahead of the other major grocers.• Improved the rigour of the monthly forecasting process, holding senior leadership to account for business performance and actions to be taken to address challenges. Asda moved from c.(3%) behind the market to being ahead across the time I was in role.

My role involved working closely with Executive Leadership to make important decisions for the group. I was relied on to generate key documents both internally and externally, with investor relations, executive leadership teams and the board of directors as key stakeholders.Key Achievements• Prepared key trading update financials that were issued to the market• Created financial benchmarking analysis of key markets and metrics, managing subsequent action plans to close identified gaps• Supported the ABInbev acquisition, one of the largest ever M&A transactions on the UK stock exchange

My role focused on leading the implementation of financial best practices across the group, assessing current capabilities and working with finance functions to develop improvement plans, on their journey to become better business partners and more effective finance functions.Key Achievements• Led capability assessments and subsequent improvement plans that delivered tangible results in several key markets• Delivered full day training courses to market finance teams• Built an intranet site full of materials to develop the capabilities of market teams and individuals• Setup global communities of practice, linking subject matter experts across the globe

I setup robust reporting procedures and processes to ensure insights could be generated through reporting, and compliance could be met where appropriate. The procurement organisation was a dynamic new part of the global business that was rapidly expanding with a small finance team thus giving me great opportunities to take on significant projects and develop key processes.Key Achievements• Pulled together the c. $110m budget for the organisation, managing all cost centres by business partnering with key leadership team• Setup a monthly global recharging process that could effectively manage over $200m in fees • Setup the payment days and contract coverage reporting following the implementation of a new system allowing the business to track key working capital and risk metrics• Implemented the group risk reporting best practices and setting up the risk register

My role within the Group Treasury team exposed me to the way a large multinational manages its funding requirements and banking relationships.Key Achievements• Analysis I put together led to the positive re-grading of the business by Moodys Credit Rating Agency• Ensured all key treasury notes in the annual report were signed off by liaising with all markets and ensuring their submissions were corrected

This role gave me a great insight into the reporting requirements of a large multi-national, and all of the structures and requirements needed to ensure both internal and external reporting are produced on time and to the highest quality. My responsibilities included producing reports for the board of directors and other senior management, producing notes to the accounts for interim and annual reports, and monthly consolidation of the group’s financial reporting.Key Achievements• Delivered key notes to the accounts for both the half year and annual reports• Re-designed and delivered the weekly sales volumes report for the Group CFO, aligning senior leadership across the group• Re-designed and delivered the monthly earnings report financials for the Executive Committee and senior management

This role gave me the ability to quickly identify key business processes and the controls that should be in place in order to ensure that risk is mitigated and operations are run most effectively. As well as auditing the various group departments I also had the opportunity to work with the local subsidiary Miller Brands UK which allowed me an insight into the operations of a growing import business and the processes and controls they needed to have in place to manage the business.Key Achievements• Delivered a number of audits of the Procurement organisation from initial scoping all the way through to issuing the final report• Conducted a global audit of the marketing policy on commercial communication, writing the scope and key audit themes to be used across the group by each market team

I was placed in the largest manufacturing site in the group, allowing me to see how a high performing finance function should function in an operating environment. My role allowed me to provide financial assistance to the operations (tracking performance, discussing KPI's, budgeting, etc), as well as reporting the financials back to the business for consolidation.Key Achievements• Reduced costs across the business through owning the monthly costs review process and business partnering with each head of department• Owned the relationship with external auditors ensuring a clean audit
