I dedicate my time and energy to helping people reach their potential. I do this to work towards having a world where everyone can lead themselves and others to do their best work, in the best environment for them. This has intensified since becoming a Dad of two little boys and wanting them to be in a world that helps everyone to be the best version of themselves. My passion for development started over 10 years ago educating children as young as 9 months and adults of all ages, from a variety of backgrounds. Then in 2015, I founded Always Growing Ltd, an Early Education and Childcare Company that now employs over 30 people in three locations. It is a privilege to continually enhance a working environment for individuals who do a job as crucial as educating children in their foundation years. The early years sector more widely needs positive advocacy and I do this through additional roles such as Trustee of TACTYC since 2021, a charity dedicated to the professional development of the early years sector and Co-Convenor of BERA’s Early Childhood research interest group since 2022. I also held a role with the DfE supporting settings with a variety of needs as part of the COVID-19 recovery scheme. Since 2018, I have also worked in higher education, mostly teaching leadership and management at Masters level and leading the MA in Education Programme. Over this time, I have continued to learn and develop as an individual too, recently becoming a qualified coach and in the final stages of completing my doctoral work in educational leadership. From August 2023 I have been the Director of Teaching and Learning for the Department of Education. I am interested in research around education and leadership, and find myself well positioned to contribute new knowledge in these fields. I actively seek opportunities to learn more and share knowledge and insight in education and industry and am always open to new opportunities. I also have created two other exciting organisations:Edventurous Leadership, a leadership platform and community helping individuals and organisations on their educational journey towards leadership excellence. ConnectED international, a charity that partners with local community groups to support sustainable change, through educating and empowering whole communities, in areas that need it most. I am responsible for introducing schools to our web app that can teach their pupils programming in an innovative and fun way. Our web app gets children to create their own worlds that can literally contain anything, using the programming skills they learn through our interactive tutorials. Hence my job title. As well getting schools to trial and later purchase the web app I am responsible for training the teachers that oversee the lessons. Codeletics is a self-organised learning environment bit of course it's important the teachers have an understanding of this new and exciting skill.

As well as taking on more responsibility with assisting the running of the special needs and pupil services in the school I also taught ICT and PSE. Both of which presented new challenges and experiences for me. I also was responsible for overseeing our team of Learning Support Assistants who are the hard working frontline of support for children with learning difficulties in the school. I will definitely miss the eventful and unpredictable days we had as a team.
