At Certas Energy my main role was developing our customer base and ensuring each customer account was maximised to its full potential. This primarily involved taking inbound sales calls, within which it was my job to understand the needs of the customer and to process orders quickly and effectively. I was able to exercise excellent sales skills as I had to be resilient, persistent, and tenacious in order to ensure that I was competitive in this target driven and results-oriented position. I also made outbound calls which, when necessary, allowed me to demonstrate my ability to cross-sell and upsell. This was only achieved by first analysing each customer account thoroughly to ensure that what I was pitching would be relevant and of value to them.

My role at Cambridge Alumni Tours was as a sales agent and occasional day manager. This involves the organisation of multiple simultaneous tours which depart once an hour. It was within my role to be there for customers from ticket purchase to tour departure, all within a fast-paced and competitive working environment. The clientele here ranges from English speaking nationals to foreign tourists, allowing me to exercise and elevate my communication skills with customers. When managing it was my job to motivate and organise my team whilst dealing with transactions and relaying booking information to teams across Cambridge. This was a commission based role that required me to be driven and target focused.
