Lewis A. Lipsitz, MD is a geriatrician, clinical researcher, educator, and program leader at Harvard Medical School and its affiliated academic hospitals, Hebrew SeniorLife and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He completed a residency in internal medicine and fellowship in geriatrics at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, as well as a Health Policy and Aging Fellowship at CMS. His research interests include falls, fainting, blood pressure regulation, cognitive dysfunction, and improving care for elderly people. He has more than 250 original publications, including research papers, review articles,chapters, and 2 books. In recognition of his achievements in teaching, mentoring, and clinical care he was awarded the prestigious William Silen Lifetime Achievement Award in Mentoring from Harvard Medical School and the Joseph Freeman Award from the Gerontological Society of America.
