I am currently a lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of Dundee, teaching and researching around the sub-field of Public Policy.I currently lead several modules in our undergraduate and post-graduate teaching; Politics and Public Policy (1st year), British Politics (3rd year), Scottish Politics and Policy (4th year), EU Politics (4th year and Masters), and Public Policy Analysis in Context (Masters). I also deliver lectures on our pre-honours Global Challenges, Comparative Politics, and International Relations modules. I have previously taught modules on European Security (Masters) and Applied Sociology (College-level). At Dundee I have been a nominee for numerous student teaching awards as well as winning the Student Choice Award for my teaching within the Division of Environment, Energy, and Society.My research historically has covered the EU and more recently engages with more issues relating to Scottish Politics. My PhD research sought to clarify the conceptualisation of changing policy-making processes in the EU's intergovernmental areas of business; foreign policy, internal security, defence, and finance policy. Since then, my research continues to cover the politics of reform and stagnation, currently around Council Tax and the introduction of AI in Scottish local government. My research is primarily institutionalist in approach.
