After completion of LETQC at the Defence School of Marine engineering I would go on to Join HMS Dauntless. as M3D Deputy section Head a section which specialises in freshwater production and management (Reverse Osmosis) Bilge, sullage and waste oil management, AFFF firefighting systems as well as maintaining all Galley systems and stores lifts.Due to issues with staffing, I would have to assume the role of Section head of M3D which would require Both carry out the LET's Job as well as the Petty officers.Aswell as carrying out Planned and unplanned mechanical and electrical maintenance myself, I also direct a team to do so. using UMMS (CMMS) to keep to schedule and plan in maintence tasks. I am also in charge of safety of those who work under me making sure they Follow SSOW such as LOTO and PTW.I often have to liaise with teams or individuals from large contracted industries and companies such as BAE, Babcock and Serco to ensure work is carried out to keep the ships full capabilities running.During my time on HMS dauntless i brought the ship out of first in class propulsion improvement program, Complete another OST and travelled to South America and the Caribbean the first time any 45 had visited in 8 years

I was selected for the royal navy Accelerated Apprenticeship scheme and joined the RN in 2018. During this first stage of my career i would have to complete the pre-requisites to become a leading engineering technician within a compressed time frame achieving what might take some people 4 years in one and a half years.I would spend 6 months in HMS Sultan (Defence School of Marine engineering) after completing basic training gaining knowledge to take forward to my "Sea phase" on board HMS Albion.During my time on HMS Albion i had to become adaptable and quickly learn systems and put in to practise engineering knowledge previously gained. Moving around Engineering departments every few weeks. I carried out Planned and breakdown maintence in both mechanical electrical tasks as well as watch keeping. Whilst on board Albion I would be involved in an OST or operational sea training which is known as some of the most challenging training for ships in the RN. Aswell as a deployment to Norway and the Baltics on exercise "Cold Response". Completing my engineering task book within the time frame challenged me but taught me how resilient to stress I can be and of course allowed me to gain a higher level of engineering knowledge.

Whilst conducting this role i would handle Sensative documents with personal information on them. this would give me my first introduction to GDPR and how to handle such information. I also gained insight in to how large public organisations such as the NHS are ran and managed.

During my time at bisley I would work in the bispoke manufacturing department as an operative. Here i would learn how to become part of a larger team aswell as working togeather to solve problems that arrise due to the nature of the low volume manufacturing process. It also gave me an insite in to manufacting in a large factory enviroment.
