I'm currently involved with the administration of Framework Agreements for one of the leading Oil and Gas Refineries in the UK.

E Poppleton & Son Ltd are a specialist contractor who manufacture , supply and install Ductwork Ventilation solutions and work with some of the UKs largest Tier 1 contractors including specialist M&E Contractors. Based in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. I joined the company in March of 2022 to assist the project teams with the day-to-day administration of the commercial and surveying aspects of new build, refurb and design and build projects. I joined initially to assist the company with it’s Hinkley Point C contract, the largest contract in the company’s portfolio in that present time. Due to the contracts success as it progressed, I was assigned to other projects within various sectors i.e., pharmaceutical, data centers, hospitals, green technology. I transitioned quickly in the company and achieved a promotion to full Quantity Surveyor within 6 months of joining the company and following completion of my part-time QS degree at LJMU. As time progressed and following the commercial success of a number of projects, I was eventually awarded the opportunity for promotion to the Commercial Manager for the company. As the new commercial manager, I began to grow the commercial department by interviewing and eventually hiring a new Trainee QS and a Trainee Estimator. In this time, I furthermore began to draft, update, and implement new commercial procedures to instill discipline in the commercial team.

I was employed as a Buyer / Estimator for Colomendy Ltd a UK based Company with extensive experience in export procurement worldwideservicing the Construction, Civil and Mechanical Industries. I started my role as a Junior Buyer and progressed to a Buyer within two years. Colomendy were specialists in supply-chain management and package contracting on overseas projects, of which, I assisted both sides of the company. My responsibilities within that position were as follows:- Calculating costs for all materials included within project plans, drawings, Bill of Quantities and schedules.- Identifying potential suppliers and innovative products.- Establishing business relationships with various suppliers, subcontractors and manufacturers to obtain quotations and ascertain the availability of goods and services.- Keeping detailed and diligent records and maintaining a well organised work schedule- Assessing the reliability and competency of suppliers & subcontractors- Dealing effectively with challenges regarding suppliers and the flow of materials- Ensuring compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements of materials- Providing clients with quotations for the supply of goods and services.- Estimating the costs involved with the supply of goods and services at the tendering stage of a project and to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided.- Preparing and maintaining cost reports in order to maximise company efficiency.- Negotiating the most favourable terms possible with clients and suppliers- Partaking in the analysis of tender submissions.- Ensuring sufficient logistical provisions for onward export shipments.
