Wireless Matrix (formerly NORCOM Networks, a subsidiary of Telenor – formerly Norwegian Telecom) had purchased the FCC license to provide Mobile Data Packet Switched (MDS) Services here in the United States. The RF architecture of the Land Earth Station (LES) was designed using the COMSAT specification for the INMARSAT STD-M Wireless Matrix was based at that time in Seattle, Washington. The LES for their RF network was going to be located in Reston, VA. Wireless Matrix needed experienced RF and Data Communications engineers who could build a data center based on the MSAT Specifications.

Managed a team who participated in the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of the next generation network protocol and topology enhancements (including evaluating TCP/IP, Frame Relay, X.25, and Mobitex protocols). The team also performed feasibility analysis of the corporate enterprise network, and the mobile data satellite network topologies used to support customer traffic.My team conducted the research, evaluated the different RF and Wide Area Network technologies, and implemented the data center used to process the mobile data satellite network traffic. As a result, the data center was completed and transitioned into operational state in 1997. Wireless Matrix has the only satellite data center providing real-time packet switched services in the US market today.
