I am a Partner in the Leverage Finance Team in London, specialising in Sports Finance and Structured Real Estate Finance. I have a broad range of experience advising global investment banks, debt funds, institutional investors, leagues and clubs on various sports finance transactions spanning stadium developments, media financings, club acquisitions, league-wide finance packages and player transfer financings.I also regularly advise lenders (both senior and mezzanine) and sponsors on multi-jurisdictional structured real estate finance transactions and loan-on-loan financings. I have also advised on the restructuring and work-out of legacy CMBS transactions. I am currently serving as a member of the TheCityUK Next Generation Leadership Council.I am also an active member of the Commercial Real Estate Financial Council (CREFC)'s European back leverage working group.Recent notable transactions include:Sports• Acting for numerous accredited institutional investors (as purchasers) in connection with a stadium securitisation transaction relating to Olympic Lyonnais' stadium.• Acting for numerous accredited institutional investors (as purchasers) and lenders in connection with a € 1,450,000,000 novel Spanish securitisation to fund the redevelopment of FC Barcelona's iconic Camp Nou stadium.• Acting for the Eagle Football group of companies, founded by US digital entrepreneur and football enthusiast John Textor, on the acquisition of a significant controlling stake in Olympique Lyonnais Groupe.• Acting for numerous accredited institutional investors (as purchasers) in connection with the placement and purchase of € 595,000,000 10 year notes issued by Futbol Club Barcelona.REF/Funds• Advising Castlelake on a € 470,000,000 joint venture with Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden AB (publ) to acquire a portfolio of community properties. • Acting for QDE, a subsidiary of the Qatari Investment Authority in connection with a green loan relating to the redevelopment of 30 Grosvenor Square (formerly the US Embassy) into a luxury hotel to be operated by Rosewood.• Acting for an international real estate debt fund in connection with the establishment of a securitisation platform and the origination of various mezzanine and whole loans in Europe.• Acting for a real estate debt fund in connection with a loan-on-loan financing, secured against various underlying loans in Western Europe.• Acting for a real estate debt fund in connection with the origination of various real-estate-backed loans in Germany, Spain, France and the Netherlands.
