Tongariro Junction is a large scale Accommodator in Turangi backing onto State Highway 1 at the southern end of Lake Taupo. The facility caters for travellers on State Highway 1 travelling between Wellington and Auckland and tourists visiting the region to walk the Tongariro Crossing and other walks. Tourists also stay at Tongairo Junction while visiting the magnificent Tongariro River to fly fish , raft and kayak. The accommodation is a mix of motel, apartments, cabins, hostel, camping and motorhome park.
