• Managed multi-regional team developing a software product for factory automation. The product is targeting maximizing efficiency of semiconductor manufacturing equipment by productizing BKMs (“best-known method”) in equipment utilization and analysis. • Led the team to define a streamlined product life cycle covering all phases of product development from idea inception to deployment of the solution. The new process was applied for gathering knowledge of field engineers, classifying collected BKMs, prioritizing the BKMs according to internal importance and effect on the market, and productize the BKMs. • Defined technical direction to utilize state-of-the-art data science technology even before the technology became popular.

• Managed multiple teams to build and deploy solar manufacturing software solutions. The solutions were developed to apply technical assets in semiconductor and display industries into a newly-emerging solar industry. The solutions were deployed in market-leading solar manufacturing companies in Germany, USA, and India. • Took multiple responsibilities including managing solution deployment team to address issues arising in the customer sites, managing tool automation team to develop applications for solar equipment, developing a solution for monitoring product quality, and developing a streamlined process to improve the team performance from development to deployment.

• Developed the next generation of manufacturing execution system. The product is developed to provide a small footprint solution in order to penetrate small to medium-sized manufacturing companies, which is the same model that referred now to ‘smart factory.’ • I was responsible for the whole product life cycle including developing and marketing the product. I formed a development team, developed a market penetration strategy, and created a product development plan. Before completing the project, I was pulled to help the solar solutions due to issues arising at the customer sites.

• Managed R&D center in Korea for building and deploying software product for semiconductor and display manufacturing. I started this role in Brooks Automation, and the software division of Brooks Automation was merged to Applied Materials in 2007. I continued to take the role until returning to the U.S. • I was responsible for the overall operation of the R&D and project service teams. I also worked closely with domestic companies including market-leading semiconductor and display companies to address their technical and support needs. In addition, I supported overseas clients in Japan and Taiwan as needed for various technical aspects. • Furthermore, I worked as a solution architect for a next-generation manufacturing software to be used in semiconductor manufacturing facilities of Fortune-15 company, in which I defined technology roadmap and architecture of the software.

• Led a team of solution architects who are responsible for requirement analysis and software design. As the manager and leader of the team, I was responsible for defining technology roadmap of software products for semiconductor, display, and medical industries. • This role also required working closely with not only internal marketing and sales team but also key customers to understand customer’s needs and provide solutions that satisfy the needs.

• Led and managed multiple projects of next-generation solutions for the world-first 300mm wafer manufacturing facility located in South Korea. I designed and developed renovations in the fundamental framework of the solutions in order to handle the large volume of transactions occurring from 300mm wafer manufacturing.• Designed and developed core-level features, such as database interface and memory management, of the software framework that was used by multiple application products.

• Participated in multiple solution development projects as a developer/designer/project lead. The solutions were used by the market-leading semiconductor and display manufacturing companies. • Moved to Brooks Automation when Hanyon Tech was merged to Brooks Automation.
