About Lewis S. Mathis, Rblp-T

As a young adult I never had any real dreams or aspirations of becoming anything. Then I met the girl of my dreams and we decided to leave the world we both knew to start our journey together. Decisions were made and after thirteen weeks of education I became “phony tough and crazy brave”. From that moment in my life I had found my calling. Over the last three decades the United States Marine Corps has taught me several life lessons. Its Core Values of honor, courage and commitment are steadfast and at the forefront of every Marine’s actions. We live it! From our indoctrination as recruits were are taught to be leaders. Some are natural born while others are made. Making a career out of being a Marine is almost unheard of these days and those that “make it” are immensely capable of accomplishing anything. To me, great leadership is defined by the individual, both by the leader and by those being led. Just as individuals are different, so go their leadership styles. Effective leaders are not one dimensional. Each specific situation dictates how it is handled by leaders. Leaders that are diverse and can adapt to the situation and that can handle each problem as the unique, special project that it is, those leaders will be...Inspirational.
