As you all take your seats & settle in, he comes on the microphone.His request is simple, "Can someone in Row 2 please move to the back of the plane."As you can imagine, everyone is now uncomfortably looking away, avoiding eye contact & not wanting to be the one that moves.He repeats his request with no change in action. He pauses and then adds, "OK, I need someone to move to the back of the plane so we can balance out the weight so we will be able to take off!"Now people in Row 2 have an active reason ‘why’ someone needs to move.With the correct information, support and training, your people will be actively involved in the organisation's safety.
