Organize events for students interested in urban planning to learn more about the field, such as hosting a planner from Whatcom Transit Authority as well as a planner from the City of Bellingham, both events which drew 30+ students. Foster a community in which ideas are freely shared and those within the cohort can find a space to develop their passions and connections. Communicate with faculty on department recruitment opportunities. Spearhead travel opportunities for professional development, such as writing grants and coordinating fundraisers for groups of 10-25 students to attend the WA APA conference and National APA conference.
