Professionally, I've done it all at the store level. That's why I'm ready for the corporate offices. Stock room experience? Check. Floor experience? Check. Managerial experience? Check. Visuals, deliveries, ordering, handling vendors, handling customers, handling employees? Check. Merchandising and business are what I do. All that aside, I'm also pretty good at Spanish and I'm working on Japanese. I actually spent 3 months in Japan and learned a great deal from the experience, including communication with language barriers and cultural sensitivity.Specialties: Diplomacy, intuition, eye for what looks good, persistence, anything involving computers, leadership of others, working independently, meticulous, Microsoft Word/Excel/Access/Outlook/Powerpoint, creative problem solving when lots of restrictions are present

SupervisorOdysea Aug 2006 - May 2007In short, I did a little bit of everything. That tends to be normal with one-store companies. I was primarily responsible for the window displays, running the sales floor, attending to unsatisified customers, attending to unsatsified vendors, bringing stuff from the warehouse to the store, making the occasional delivery to a customer's home, placing special orders, and doing everything possible to fix the computers if/when they needed it.

Sales Associate, Stock Associate, Vm AssistantExpress Oct 2002 - Jul 2006I started as a holiday employee on the sales floor but one summer I was needed in the stock room and I ended up staying there for a full year. I worked at 2 locations, one at the Somerset Collection (Troy, MI) and the other at Eastwood Towncenter (East Lansing, MI). When I transferred to the Eastwood location, I was in charge of the whole stockroom. Additionally, I assisted with the visual displays of the store as I had a natural aptitude for it.

Resident AdvisorMichigan State University Aug 2003 - May 2004I was somewhat of a non-traditional RA as I eschewed the dogmas the building manager tried to enforce. I upheld the various rules and regulations of the university but when it came to bonding with my students and doing the "norm", I opted out and went with what was best for my floor. Weekly meetings and weak activities are NOT the way to connect with males ages 18-22. I kept a professional distance but I also made friends with them and as such was able to be much more effective in my role as a mentor.
