This academic appointment involved the China Biographical Database, and a group of visiting scholars in Chinese History at Harvard's IQSS. Tasks included automated extraction of placenames and biographical information from historical Chinese texts (with regex and / or python), editing authority files for geonames and official titles, as well as system integration, and hardware upgrades to support a team of Research Fellows at the CBDB office in Cambridge.

Developed databases, GIS data, webmaps, and web services for geographic information related to G. W. Skinner's Regional Systems Analysis archive and the China Historical GIS. Managed numerous geospatial and linked data research projects. Responsible for system administration of various Linux systems, AWS EC2 instances, as well as Securty SSL configurations, VHosts, and website migrations to static web sites (using Hexo, Hugo, Metalsmith, NodeJS).

Developed historical geographic data for the administrative system of China, covering the period from the Qin (221 BCE) to the Qing Dynasty (1911 CE). Worked with MySQL - PHP to create search engines and web services for placenames, feature types, reign periods, historical map collections, East Asian Newspaper collections, and other cultural and historical digital collections.

Administrator of Sponsored Research Group at MIT. Worked with Dave Clark (LCS), Lee McKnight, Sharon Eisner Gillette, Bill Lehr, John Wroclawski, Nick Papadakis, Emma Smith & others on research concerning the future of telecommunications systems, devices, form factors, services, and business strategies. Sponsors included Telecom Italia, Bell Canada, British Telecom, Nokia, Sprint, Telefonica de Espana. Organized and managed international conferences of 40 to 120 participants in Italy, UK, Belgium, US.
